Materials

Customers often inquire about the distinctions between gold fill and solid gold. Here's some information on the different options and their qualities.
GOLD FILL
14k Gold Fill (14/20 Gold) - minimum 5% yellow gold in setting/chain. Gold plated jewelry is usually 0.05%.Our gold fill is non tarnish, waterproof and hypoallergenic, perfect for sensitive skin.
This is a cost-effective and long-lasting alternative to solid gold, offering the same appearance without the high price. Please be aware that there may be some variation in color where the metal has been soldered, giving each piece a unique touch.
SOLID GOLD AND HOLLOW GOLD
All products labelled as 9kt, 10kt, 14kt, 18kt (sometimes ct instead of kt) are genuine gold, not plated or layered. They are made from the alloys that form the different golds. Hollow gold chain or setting are more affordable but lack the strength and durability of a solid piece. We recommend it for occasional wear only. Contact us if you are unsure.
STERLING SILVER
All our silver products are 925 sterling silver. Silver is notorious for oxidising and losing its brightness, so it is important to clean your jewellery correctly and regularly to maintain that super shiny new look.
Please refrain from wearing all these metals in the shower, while bathing or swimming (particularly in chlorinated pools or natural hot pools). Also avoid having them come in contact with body lotions, perfumes, soaps or any other chemical substances and always wipe down with a jeweller's cloth or a dry lint free cloth after wearing to avoid acid from the skin affecting the metal.

Each stone is individual so there may be some slight variations in colour and size. These semi-precious gemstones aren’t as hard as precious gemstones like diamonds. Therefore they may have some subtle inclusions, natural marks or imperfections.

Most stones are imperfect and that's ok so it’s important when you purchase your jewellery that you are aware of this. In all cases we attempt to use the best quality gems we have available suitable for the piece. Each item is made to order.

Unless the goods are damaged or defective or not as specified in your order, you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods.

If the goods were faulty or incorrect then the cost of return postage will be refunded to you.

Refunds will not be given if the goods have been damaged by you, this includes damage caused by inadequate packaging by you when returning goods.

REPAIRS

We will repair any manufacturing fault at no cost within 3 months of the purchase date. Proof of purchase is required.

Manufacturing faults do not include: Lost, chipped, cracked or broken gemstones. Pearls that have been damaged or knocked out of their settings. Pearls that have lost lustre or nacre. Broken chains. General wear and tear including rings that have bent out of shape, oxidisation of metals or plating that has worn off.

If you would like any of the above repairs made, we can assess the damage and will let you know the cost before proceeding.

Where do your pearls, metals, chain and settings come from?
As with all our jewellery pieces we have a hands on approach to every single piece. We are very proud to source 95% of our Tahitian pearls from one family run pearl farm in the Tuamotu Islands in French Polynesia. The remaining pearls we get are sourced from various pearl farmers and are often due to custom requests from our clients for specific colours, shapes or sizes that our main supply doesn't have available from their recent harvest. All our metals are sourced from either NZ, Australia, the USA or HongKong. We have some fantastic reliable suppliers who we go directly through to, ensuring we cut out auctioneers and middle men costs. As with many of our settings, we work to ensure they are affordable for you as the consumer, and with this, many of our chains and some settings/mountings are made by our suppliers to our order. However we also create many of our settings and pieces from scratch in our workshop, along with setting all our pearls. If you want to know more about what we make in our workshop, keep an eye on our social media account stories as we often post about what we have been making and the steps to a finished piece.

Caring for my jewellery, from storage to cleaning.

When it comes to looking after jewellery, many of us don't realise what is needed to ensure our jewellery lasts and is kept looking bright and lovely! We have compiled some great information here on how to keep your jewellery looking its best. See our tips on caring and cleaning here. We also have Sunshine polishing cloths available for purchase here (link coming soon) which remove dirt, oils and tarnishing from gold and silver.

How long do orders take from the time I purchase online?
With most orders we are able to process and fill these within 2-3 working days. From there you will be able to decide if you would like to continue with your order or cancel it.

Care Instructions

Our pieces are made from quality materials and will last for many years if cared for correctly. We have popped together the below tips to keeping your jewellery looking its best and lasting a long life.

How to store your jewellery:
Tarnish proof boxes or individual bags are the best way of keeping your jewellery untarnished and reduce scratching. Many people also get anti-tarnish tabs in a velvet lined jewellery box. Please ensure they are kept in a cool, dry discrete place or in a safe.

When to wear your jewellery:
We recommend that you avoid wearing your jewellery whilst cleaning, gardening, swimming/showering and particularly when doing sporting and gym activities.
Remember gold and silver are relatively soft metals and damaging the setting or chain can compromise the safety of the stones and pearls. We always suggest precious jewellery is saved for wearing on occasion rather than everyday.
For all pearl jewellery we say avoid wearing them in pools, showers, saunas or in hot environments as heat can break down the jeweller's glue used when setting the pearls. We also suggest avoiding wearing rings whist doing dishes. Also avoid knocking any setting, a pearl is often held with a glued single pin and therefore can be knocked out of the setting if not cared for properly.
Also apply cosmetics, moisturizers and perfumes prior to putting on your jewellery.

How to clean your jewellery:
We do offer jewellery cleaning and polishing services. Please contact us if you would like to know more about these services and what we can do to bring your jewellery back to life.
After wearing we recommend to wipe jewellery with a soft lint free cloth. A soft fabric like velvet or cotton make a good cloth to wipe your pieces down.
You can also clean your jewellery in warm water and diluted dish washing liquid (one drop to 1/4 cup warm water). Allow your jewellery to soak for 10 minutes then use a soft tooth brush to clean areas like engraving, details and behind stones.

Other care for your jewellery:
Always ensure your jewellery is covered by your insurance policy and have a safe place for them to be stored when not being worn. Some insurance policies require valuation of higher value items so be sure to clarify this with them to ensure your jewellery is covered.

Specific care for pearls and pearl jewellery:
As with any gemstone, pearls require special care to ensure they keep at their best. Cosmetics, sun block, perfume and hairspray all contain chemicals that can dramatically dull the luster of a pearl. The natural acids contained in body oils and perspiration can also damage pearls in the same way. It is best to put your pearls on at least 30 minutes after applying any personal care products, and to take your pearls off before getting ready for bed. A good rule of thumb to remember is that pearls should be the last things to put on and the first things to take off. Pearls are a soft gem and will crack, please wear them with care and avoid knocking or bumping them. They are often set on a fine pin to the setting itself and once broken it can become near impossible to remove this pin and making the pearl redundant.
Wiping the pearls with a damp, soft cloth after you wear them will ensure that they remain free of harmful build-up of compounds that may damage the nacre of your pearls. Always keep your pearls separated from hard jewelry items such as rings or bracelets to prevent them from being scratched. Pearls are best kept in a soft-cloth pouch or a soft-lined jewelry box. Never store your pearls in an airtight environment such a a zip lock bag. Pearls are organic and do contain trace amounts of water. Storing them in an airtight environment will cause them to become brittle and damage the luster.
Restringing: If you wear your pearls often, they should be strung about once a year to prevent strand breakage.
